Allow me to introduce myself... |
Hi Everyone! My name is Brenda Leon. I was born and raised here in the state of Arizona. I've graduated with a Bachelor's in Psychology. Before joining the Transfer Team, I worked in the non-profit sector advocating for youths in need. When I'm not working, I enjoy the outdoors, gardening, and spending time with my family |
What is your favorite thing about the University of Arizona? |
It’s strong sense of community combined with excellent academic opportunities. The warm and homey campus atmosphere, school spirit, and beautiful desert surroundings in Tucson. The university is especially known for its strong programs in research and innovation, while also offering many clubs, sports, and campus events that help students feel connected and involved. |
What is your best advice for a prospective student? |
The best advice for a prospective student is to begin early in your high school years by choosing a college based on where you see yourself grow, succeed, and feel supported—not just on rankings or other people’s opinions. Take time to explore the campus, ask questions, and think about how you see yourself fitting in, academically and socially. |
What is your best tip for college success? |
It’s also important to get involved on campus as much as you possible, connect with professors, classmates, and find resources that fit your needs. Make social connections while maintaining a healthy balance between academics and personal life. |
How does a student know they've found the right college fit? |
A student should feel a sense of belonging and excitement. Students should be able to see the opportunities available that will make them successful. The campus should feel warm and welcoming, knowing that you have a place to call your own. |
What's your favorite spot on the Arizona campus? |
One favorite spot on campus is the dining area where it brings people together. Students can relax, share meals, and connect with friends between classes. That connection is shared outside of campus through the countless restaurants that spread across the city that serve comfort foods for family and friends to make memorial moments. |
