Presidential Scholarship

The University of Arizona Presidential Scholarship recognizes outstanding non-Arizona, first-year students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement. Presidential Scholars not only demonstrate excellence in the classroom, but they are also leaders in their schools and communities and understand the importance of the University of Arizona’s values. Approximately 50, non-Arizona, first-year students receive the Presidential Scholarship, and the awarding process is highly selective.

Award Information

Presidential Scholars receive up to $40,000 over four year of undergraduate study- $10,000 per year (split annually between Fall and Spring terms).

Eligibility Requirements

• Non-Arizona resident
• Domestic, first-year students who are admitted to Arizona as a first-time, full-time, degree seeking student for Fall 2025.
• A minimum 3.90+ core, unweighted GPA through the student’s first three years of high school
• A commitment to the University of Arizona’s six core values of: Integrity, Compassion, Exploration, Adaptation, Inclusion and Determination.

How to Apply

Eligible admitted students should complete the online Presidential Scholarship application no later than December 15, 2024 (11:59 PM Arizona).

Award Notification

Recipients of the Presidential Scholarship will be notified by email no later than April 1, 2025.

Scholarship Renewal

Presidential Scholars are renewed annually for up to 8 consecutive terms of undergraduate studies over four years. Early graduation will result in all remaining funds to be forfeited.

• Be enrolled in and complete a minimum of 15 credits per semester.
• Maintain a 3.00 cumulative Arizona GPA.
